Edgar Tapia found solace during a time of great transition with a camera in hand on the California coast. Having left behind 26 years in the Central Valley in Sacramento for a new beginning in San Francisco, Edgar sought to put into perspective the very realities that the world has come to expect from Silicon Valley. The Western edge of the city known by many as the outer lands, Edgar unexpectedly had to slow things down.
Studying and receiving a degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University, days were anything but slow and comfortable. The camera, the ocean and the neighborhood of the Outer Sunset provided something so unexpected and hidden from conventional imagery from this city.
Edgar Tapia has returned to his hometown of Sacramento, California. This is during a transition that some would call urban renewal including increases in new residents and luxury condos, he is again finding himself in search of calm.
